Hero sends each save to a queue, then on to EMIS or SystmOne. How quickly it arrives depends on how busy the queue is and how quickly the clinical system responds.
What can be saved:
What | Where you save it from |
|---|---|
Form and questionnaire responses | The response in your Inbox, using Save to record |
Consultation notes | Quick consult, when you click Save to record |
Message content | The message builder, with the save to record option switched on |
A few things to know:
The patient must be linked to their record in your clinical system (an EMIS ID for EMIS, or an NHS number for SystmOne). If they aren't, you won't be able to save.
Messages only save once they've been delivered, so they can take a little longer than other saves.
Any SNOMED codes attached to a questionnaire or quick consult are saved with it.
If you can't see the Save to record option, it may not be switched on for your account. Contact us.
How long it takes: most saves arrive within a few seconds. Messages can take a minute or two because they wait until they've been delivered. At busy times, a small number take up to about 20 minutes.
Click Save to record once. You don't need to stay on the page or click again.
If you check EMIS or SystmOne straight away and can't see it, give it a few minutes before assuming it has failed.
If Hero shows Not saved to record on the item, the save didn't go through. See Save to record failed: what to do.
Something still hasn't arrived in EMIS or SystmOne after 30 minutes.
Saves are failing for several patients at once.
Something has been saved against the wrong patient or the wrong clinician.
