In Hero, a location is a site patients can book at. A practitioner is a clinician. Availability is held per practitioner per location.
New locations come through from EMIS automatically, and a new location shows on booking links as soon as EMIS has slots there. You don't need to assign practitioners to it in Hero.
Hero links each practitioner to their EMIS user (the "holder" of the slots in EMIS). If this link is missing, or there are two Hero records for the same person, their slots can't be booked.
Hero only picks up an EMIS practitioner once they have availability in EMIS in the next 90 days, and only at a location that's already linked to its EMIS site. A practitioner with availability at an unlinked location won't show.
Check the location exists: go to settings, then My practice > Locations. For EMIS practices, locations come from EMIS.
Check it's linked to the EMIS site: open Settings, then Integrations, then EMIS Settings, and use the Locations tab to link each Hero location to its EMIS site. Use the Practitioners tab on the same page to link each practitioner to their EMIS user.
Link a practitioner to their EMIS user: in your EMIS settings, use the Practitioners tab. If their EMIS user is already linked to a different Hero practitioner (for example a duplicate), contact us rather than creating another.
New locations and practitioners come through from EMIS within two hours. Then check the booking link.
The practitioner has availability in EMIS but can't be found or linked.
You think a practitioner has been set up twice.
Changes have been made but the location or practitioner still doesn't appear for patients (we may need to refresh things our side).
My booking link shows no slots, or a doctor or site is missing
